Whether you handle an old system of your brother or a customized computer of yours, certain problems happen to occur sooner or later. So, before making a call to the tech support center, it is advised that you try your hands and sort the problems yourself.
Here are few of them that upon occurrence can be fixed without a technician. Why don’t you take a look and find it for yourself!
First of all:
Occurrence of any issue in your system shouldn’t scare you right away. Take a deep breath and restart your system, it might not be as bad as you think it to be. Restarting the system often solves the problem.
If the problem is with a device connected, then disconnect and reconnect it.
Is your computer awfully slow?
Now, let us make a point clear: slow browser performance doesn’t mean that there is an issue with your system. Your broadband connection is to be blamed for a slow browser performance. Computers get slower when the hard disk runs out of the maximum space that it can allocate for the files stored & running in your system.
Many applications are also responsible for the slow performance of your computer. There are programs that launch at the startup of your system, which are actually not needed at the startup. To find the programs that launch after the system boots up, you can make use of MS config tool. Once these programs are found, they can be disabled.
Downloads are taking too long!
Bear a fact in mind that the download speed should be at least half of the speed of your internet connection. If you’re not satisfied with the downloading speed, then do a bit of research—there could be certain torrent programs that are downloading in the background, without your knowledge. You can find them in the system tray.
If your network router is quite old, it is better that you change it. You can think of upgrading it, rather. Although it is not a bad idea, but the old hardware may not be a player for all the upgrades.
Computer restarts repeatedly!
It is quite annoying when the computer keeps restarting all the time. It becomes almost difficult to stand such a system. However before jumping to any conclusion, check whether the Windows updates are responsible for the frequent restarts, upon installation. If so, you can handle these updates issue easily. Isn’t this working? Then, go on updating the drivers of your system.
It could be because of overheating. So, let your computer rest for a while. If nothing works, then call out for a technician.
These are few of the computer issues that can be handled, even without a technician’s help. Do not make up your mind for that $100 call, before tweaking your system.
